At a young age I was blown away by the teaming of Chris Claremont and John Byrne on the X-Men comic book, particularly the Dark Phoenix saga. Jean Grey became posessed of an immense cosmic power that threatened to drive her insane, but to save the universe she sacrificed her own life... Well, except years later it turned out it wasn't really her, so she was alive again, and... I dunno... Well anyway, Grant Morrison is writing the X-Men now, the X-Men aren't in the skintight costumes anymore, and the Phoenix is back, and weirdness abounds. It's cool. But me, I've always had a soft spot for the old Dark Phoenix costume. So here it is. |
