Batgirl Meme - Nixon cosplay... Mid January '06, I stumbled across the Batgirl Meme, where nearly everyone on LiveJournal who could hold a pencil drew variations on Batgirl. It was such a huge fad for a week and longer, and I decided to throw my hat in the ring and maybe get some cheap promotion in addition to the challenge of the picture.

So the idea was to draw Batgirl, or redesign Batgirl. I really didn't have any ideas worth doing, and then, when I'd pretty much figured I'd have to pass on this event it came to me. I remembered an interview I'd read with Dave Sim ages ago where he mentioned that any time someone would ask him to draw some superhero at a convention, he'd just do Cerebus in the superhero suit.

So, here's one of my characters - Dart - in a Batgirl-inspired variation of her own outfit. Dartgirl. Well, she's got the red hair - and she could fling that Batarthing right into your eye. It works out pretty good.

Just for kicks, I included the other two girls from my webcomic Nixon in the pic. Taxi does a passable Robin, but I think Sevens is enjoying being Supergirl far too much.
